HOUSTON – A western shirt, fingernail clippings - missing remains. They are just some of the pieces of evidence that may have helped solve the murders in the now-infamous ‘Texas Killing Fields’ cases.
Instead, they became roadblocks in the investigation.
“That’s frustrating as a family,” says Shirley Love, sister-in-law of victim Audrey Cook. “It’s not going to bring her back, but just for somebody to pay for what they did.”
Cook, Heide Villareal Fye, Donna Prudhomme, and Laura Miller were all found in an abandoned oil field off Calder Road in League City, Tx. Their bodies were found between 1984 and 1991, and their murders have not been solved.
